  • The foundational skills, practices, and strategies of Adaptive Leadership — and more. Born at Harvard 40+ years ago, and modernized by Zander Grashow, co-author of Harvard Business School’s The Practice of Adaptive Leadership, for today’s workforce.

    Participants will learn all the fundamentals of Adaptive Leadership, plus new and expanded lessons created directly from Zander’s 25+ years of experience in implementing Adaptive Leadership with organizations worldwide.

  • Our programs go beyond traditional leadership development. We move your people from novice to athlete in their change capacity and train them for direct application on your current business challenges.

    Participants will directly and iteratively address their own leadership cases — and business challenges shared by the entire team. This is muscle-building for our modern reality.

TRAINING MODULES

First — we equip your team with the key foundational skills of Adaptive Leadership.


Month 1:

GET ON THE BALCONY

  • Half the skill and practice of adaptive change is diagnosis. Learn how to step away from the action, gain perspective, and interpret the data in front of you. Getting on the balcony is crucial to understanding problems in a systemic context.

    • Build skills in problem diagnosis and systems thinking

    • Generate multiple interpretations of business challenges from various lenses

    • Use the practice of “getting on the balcony” to develop wider and more sophisticated solution sets to business challenges

Month 2:


CURATE THE FUTURE

  • Adaptive change means being deliberate in designing the future. Evolve with intention by understanding what work to carry forward, grow into, and what to release. This curated focus helps us engage more effectively with resistance to change.

    • Identify change work using the Keep, Start, and Stop model of adaptation

    • Apply Keep, Start, Stop model to individual leadership, the organizational system, and other focal areas

Month 3:

MOBILIZE THE WORK

  • Not all changes are the same. Leading your people through transitions requires discernment between technical problems within status quo from adaptive challenges that require new learning.

    • Diagnose and strategize the work of current business challenges using the Technical v. Adaptive framework

    • Learn how Technical and Adaptive Challenges require different engagement and leadership strategies for your people

Then — you choose 3 or more real-time application modules from our portfolio.


Months 4-6+:

EVOLVE LEADERSHIP, POWER, & AUTHORITY

None of these three things are the same. Knowing the differences between leadership, power, and authority helps us understand how to better move people off of status quo.
